Norman Powell delivered an outstanding performance for Los Angeles Clippers against Sacramento Kings, scoring 31 points and collecting 12 rebounds to propel their victory 107-98 on Friday night. It marked their third straight triumph!
James Harden’s Key Role in the Victory
James Harden played an essential part in their victory, contributing 22 points. Harden scored 15 in the opening quarter alone while Powell contributed 11. These scores allowed them to hold onto their 51-45 advantage heading into halftime.
Fourth Quarter Dominance by the Clippers
The Clippers entered the fourth quarter with a five-point advantage and quickly expanded their lead with a 16-5 run. Kevin Porter Jr. scored nine points in the quarter, helping the team fend off a late push by the Kings.
A Difficult Game for the Kings
De’Aaron Fox was the standout for the Kings, scoring 31 points, while Domantas Sabonis added 23 points and 12 rebounds. However, the Kings struggled with their three-point shooting, making only 3 out of 26 attempts.
Powell and Coffey Clinch the Game
Despite trailing by 16 points in the final quarter, the Kings managed to reduce the deficit to four. At this critical moment, Powell and Amir Coffey hit back-to-back threes, securing a double-digit lead for the Clippers and clinching the game.
Norman Powell: A Rising Star
Norman Powell has seen tremendous success this season as he consistently scored 20+ points for eight straight games and earned his first double-double since entering the league ten years ago. Without Kawhi Leonard around, Powell has taken advantage of increased playing time to show what can be accomplished when given additional playing opportunities.
Looking Forward
On Saturday, the Clippers take on Toronto Raptors while on Sunday the Kings take on Phoenix Suns with each team looking to stay competitive as the season unfolds.
