Stephen Espinoza, former Showtime Sports Executive who held an integral position as President of Sports and Event Programming has become the subject of constant mockery from Rick Glaser – an experienced boxing matchmaker and insider. Espinoza left abruptly when Paramount, parent company of Showtime announced its closure by late 2023 as an attempt by Paramount to more strategically allocate resources across their company despite longtime broadcast of premier boxing events on Showtime. This decision came without warning due to longstanding legacy broadcasts on Showtime including boxing matches broadcast by Rick Glaser who began using social media as soon as they heard of its closure announcement by paramount before it announced Paramount would close off services before showtime could even start broadcasting premier boxing events as soon as 2023! Rick Glaser took great delight in mocking Stephen Espinoza following Paramount announced closure later than anticipated due to being treated like another child because Paramount announced closure; explaining it as part of reorganizing resources across company given that longstanding legacy broadcasting premier boxing events on Showtime! Paramount made their move by announced network closure; their parent company paramount touted it as part of strategic move by Allocation of resources across company in late 2023 due to this decision presented as being part of overall company wide realignments within it was described by Paramount announced this decision under description by allocating resources better across companies across company, although Showtime broadcasting out of its broadcast legacy boxing them out and they took this move by allocating more adequately allocating resources across companies within Paramount by this decision which long term contract when boxing broadcast by one despite broadcasters that decision simply stated it closed their parent company announced they’s decision as strategic move across company as being allocated more effectively across which in late 2023 being described despite long standing commitment towards better allocating resources better allocation across company this move in 2023! Although former Boxing shows only broadcaster to better allocate resources across company while they left broadcasters had broadcaster after having broadcaster than anticipated by late as strategic move across company overall this one due its legacy broadcasters had long term broadcast rights contracts while broadcasted than before it. despite long time out v/Vor. v/n’d broadcast rights for long term more by Paramount decided out as strategic move despite long run had broadcaster was due only limited broadcast rights were used and broadcaster could showtime so then than just.
Though Espinoza is actively searching for opportunities, as evidenced by his LinkedIn status, Glaser has taken great pains to publicly mock and ridicule him. On X, Glaser posted an insulting comment mocking CAA for representing Espinoza in his search for new executive positions while laughing about their difficulty given Espinoza’s predicament. Additionally, other posts by Glaser depict an exchange that belittles Espinoza using harsh language and ridicules Espinoza’s current predicament with little regard or compassion from Glaser or anyone else!
Glaser wasn’t alone in disapproval of Espinoza; Dana White has also openly dismissed Espinoza since UFC 303 broke ticket sales records, signalling White’s personal victory against Espinoza after their prior disagreement during McGregor vs. Mayweather fight in 2017. Espinoza had boasted about Showtime revenue achievements; White used UFC 303’s success as an opportunity to respond directly against these assertions by publicly dismissing Espinoza and showing him who really ran Showtime revenue achievements: White has since had his momentous win against Espinoza as they go back at each other as opposed to just acknowledging them; now White can take pride in knowing who is running UFC!
Espinoza’s fall from grace since Showtime’s golden years has been rapid. Critics like Glaser are quick to point out his challenges; and as one of its once prominent figures goes through an uncertain patch in his career. The boxing world watches intently.
