Jake Paul Targets Tommy Fury Following John Fury’s Rejection of $10M Rematch Proposal

John Fury’s management of his son Tommy Fury’s career appears to be causing friction. Jake Paul took to social media to criticize the Love Island star after a video of John Fury surfaced online. The Fury family patriarch, a former professional boxer himself, reportedly declined a $10 million offer for a rematch between Jake and Tommy.

Jake Paul tweeted, “When you are almost 30 and your dad is still calling the shots in your career… Maybe realize there is a reason your brother doesn’t have daddy as his career guide.” His remarks followed John Fury’s accusation that Jake was responsible for ruining a potential deal.

In an Instagram post, John Fury addressed Jake and his team directly. He stated he had witnesses from a meeting discussing a pending fight but denied agreeing to any definite schedule in December. Instead, he suggested a fight date in February or March 2027 seemed more realistic. John Fury emphasized that it made no sense for Jake’s side to claim he backed out on his word.

John Fury explained that December is a busy month for both his sons. Tyson Fury is likely to face Anthony Joshua on December 11, and Tommy Fury is expected to fight about a week earlier. Scheduling a fight with Jake Paul in such a congested period would not make good business sense. With the anticipated scale of the Fury-AJ fight, having another major bout close by could split audience attention and revenue.

Given these circumstances, the $10 million offer for the rematch was seen as adding little value. John Fury ended his statement with an ultimatum: “You either fight in February or March and be sensible and be amical with it, or f**k straight off.”

Adding to the tension, Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul’s friend and co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), also criticized the Furys. He claimed insiders suggested that Tommy’s team preferred a low-risk, lower-paying fight in December rather than facing Jake without demanding $10 million. Bidarian praised Tyson Fury for having strong representation in Spencer Brown and Frank Warren.

Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury II: Conflict Extended to Social Media

Since suffering a broken jaw in a knockout loss to Anthony Joshua last December, Jake Paul has been largely inactive due to surgeries and rehabilitation. Speculation about his comeback intensified when Bidarian mentioned potential return dates in December 2026 or January 2027, with late November as the earliest possibility.

Bidarian discussed possible opponents for Jake’s next boxing match, highlighting Francis Ngannou and Tommy Fury as front-runners. He described a rematch with Tommy as the most logical choice to demonstrate growth from both fighters since their first encounter three years ago. According to Bidarian, this fight would allow Jake to prove he has advanced beyond his previous form while giving Tommy a chance to end the “Jake Paul story.”

However, Bidarian acknowledged obstacles that could derail the rematch, including financial disagreements and economic realities. John Fury’s recent comments appear to confirm where those challenges lie.

John Fury’s rejection of the $10 million offer echoes an earlier refusal of a $15 million proposal from Jake Paul last year. This offer came during negotiations following Jake’s pursuit of a fight against Anthony Joshua. At that time, Jake’s team considered Tommy as a replacement opponent after a previously arranged exhibition with Gervonta “Tank” Davis fell through. Jake fired sharp remarks at Tommy and John Fury, accusing them of controlling Tommy’s decisions and calling Tommy “Daddy’s little boy.”

John Fury explained they were open to fighting Jake anywhere except the United States, citing Tommy’s possible denial of entry due to John’s past legal issues. He suggested Jake’s team was aware of this limitation and factored it into their $15 million offer.

Two years prior, Jake Paul proposed a two-fight deal valued at $20 million to Tommy Fury. That arrangement involved a boxing match first, followed by an MMA fight if Jake won. Since then, their careers have diverged significantly. Jake has grown into one of the biggest names in combat sports, consistently drawing successful events, while Tommy’s path, despite remaining undefeated, has been less straightforward and included unusual matchups like a recent exhibition with former strongman Eddie Hall.

The refusal of a significant offer solely based on unfavorable timing raises more questions than it answers about the current state of negotiations between the two camps.
