Recovering from Neck Surgery

This week, he revealed through social media updates about his latest neck surgery, expressing optimism about his recovery. “Went under the knife today for a simple surgery on my neck. I can be discharged tomorrow, and I’m gradually overcoming my health problems. I believe I’ll return to activity soon,” he shared, hopeful of a swift recovery from what was the fourth surgical procedure he has undergone recently.

The Challenge of Multiple Surgeries

Enduring four surgeries is not a small feat. Following the latest operation on his neck, Ishii revealed his battle with a spinal infection known as sepsis, which necessitated three major surgeries, rendering his upper body nearly paralyzed and significantly weakening his physical capabilities. Doctors have emphasized the need for thorough rehabilitation and therapy sessions for his recovery.

Before his health problems worsened, Ishii was active in the entertainment industry, filming scenes for “The Smashing Machine,” in which he will portray Enson Inoue – this biographical sports drama will hit theaters later in 2025 alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt among many other well-known actors.
