More recently, they joined forces to launch the new Zuffa Boxing league and organized significant bouts, including Fury’s fights against Oleksandr Usyk and Arslanbek Makhmudov.
Fury’s involvement in the Freedom 250 event was publicly noticed when Michael Bisping posted a photo with the heavyweight champion on social media, captioning it as two Lancashire natives unexpectedly meeting at the White House.
Unexpectedly, Fury made an appearance by walking straight out of the White House and into the temporary arena set up on the South Lawn, leaving fans amazed and applauding. This moment symbolized the end of his travel ban that had also affected his half-brother, Tommy Fury.
Fury had been barred from entering the United States since early 2022 due to his previous associations with the alleged Irish crime figure Daniel Kinahan and the organized Kinahan cartel. MMA journalist Ariel Helwani commented on Fury’s appearance at the White House event, interpreting it as a signal regarding which side ‘The Gypsy King’ supports in the ongoing promotional rivalry emerging within boxing following Zuffa’s entry into the sport.
“Perhaps a hint as to whose side he’s on in the great promoter battle of 2026,” Helwani remarked.
