Antonio Brown has long demonstrated his support of Donald Trump during this election cycle, most notably at his presence at an impressive rally in Pennsylvania and by using social media as his preferred medium to voice his views about current political matters and current events. Recently he used this platform to accuse American media outlets of bias against Donald Trump.
Brown recently used the hashtag #CTESPN in one of his posts and suggested “the legacy news media are experiencing a collective mental breakdown”. This observation is supported by research conducted at Media Research Center that suggests a possible imbalanced media landscape.
The findings indicated that major TV News networks like ABC, CBS, and NBC have shown a significant disparity in their election coverage, devoting 31% of airtime to controversies surrounding Trump, compared to only 5% to his opponent, Kamala Harris, on key issues. This analysis emerged from over 600 segments aired since July, marking a stark contrast in media attention from Trump’s previous presidential campaigns, mainly focusing on negative aspects.
This coverage trend aligns with a declining trust in media, where only 36% of the public report having confidence in media sources. Such trends can significantly impact Trump’s campaign, as Brown points out, emphasizing the critical nature of media representation in political success.
Brown took advantage of an opportunity to personally advocate for President Donald Trump at an election rally in Pennsylvania, engaging the audience with humor and candid political commentary — including comments regarding Kamala Harris and Tim Walz policies/figures.
Brown has taken his involvement beyond simple attendance; he actively engages in political discourse in hopes of swinging the election in Donald Trump’s favor. As election day draws nearer, his actions emphasize how sports, politics, and media intersect in contemporary American society.
