NFL competition often revolves around quarterbacks; but two standout tight ends from San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs respectively have earned headlines not just because of their impressive on-field performances but also for their mutual respect and camaraderie off of it. Travis Kelce and George Kittle standout tight ends have attracted great acclaim due to their captivating energy, commendable talent, and ability to give back in remarkable ways through charitable activities and community efforts.
George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen share an unbreakable bond beyond football. In 2021 they initiated Tight End University (TEU), an initiative dedicated to nurturing tight ends from all across the league in terms of growth and development. TEU quickly blossomed as an annual tradition offering participants skill drills, film study sessions and recovery techniques, while tapping retired NFL legends as resourceful mentors.
Kittle spoke passionately about TEU and its impact during a recent appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, sharing insights into the program’s expansion and its holistic approach to mentorship. Moreover, Kittle highlighted his involvement with the Nashville Big Brothers Big Sisters program, emphasizing the importance of guiding youth towards success through football and its values of teamwork and perseverance.
Kittle also unveiled an exciting addition to this year’s TEU roster – legendary NFL linebacker Jeremy Shockey (whose aggressive style earned him great respect). Shockey will add another depth of learning for TEU students by encouraging conversations surrounding mindset and physicality within sports.
Kittle, Kelce and Olsen remain passionately committed to TEU even during a busy NFL off-season schedule, searching for ways to enhance it with each passing year. A key highlight this year includes adding an annual golf tournament as a leisurely yet competitive way of adding flair. Their leadership of TEU stands as proof of their dedication towards building community among tight ends while excelling within them– setting an example for professional athletes using their influence for greater good.
