Jeremiyah Love of Notre Dame Accuses Texas A&M Players of Dangerous Play

Notre Dame Football now stands with an overall record of 1-2 after recording its inaugural victory of 2018 over Purdue with a 56-30 score on September 14. Notre Dame’s loss against Texas A&M by just 41-40 was plagued with controversy – particularly Nate Boerkircher converting Marcel Reed’s pass for Nate to Nate Boerkircher who scored an important touchdown just 13 seconds from time. Additionally, allegations of targeting have continued to make waves; Jeremiyah Love from Notre Dame recently reignig her voice further on it all.

At Texas A&M’s game against Notre Dame in December 2017, Adon Shuler’s targeting call against Marcel Reed’s shoulder for helmet contact resulted in his ejection and led to Marcus Freeman (Notre Dame’s head coach) disputing it unsuccessfully; later that same match became increasingly contentious due to Love’s allegations against his opponents.

Jeremiyah Love has reported targeted actions by Texas A&M players aimed at injuring him and forcing him out of the game. He described attempts to rip off his helmet and deliberate hits aimed at his knees. Despite these challenges, Love mentioned that measures have been taken to address the helmet issue that saw it come off three times during tackles in that game. Love’s performance against Texas A&M was notable, contributing significantly to Notre Dame’s offense with his rushing and receiving yards, including touchdowns.

Love also took time out of his discussion to honor fellow teammate JaDarian Price and praise his importance to Notre Dame Football as well as praise his quick footwork and work ethic. Price’s contributions in terms of rushing yards and touchdowns has shown the depth in talent among Notre Dame running back positions.
