Tom Brady has expressed his firm support of Logan Paul ahead of their Fanatics Flag Football Classic tournament scheduled to take place March 21, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. What began as lighthearted exchange quickly escalated into heated discussion over NFL talent versus professional wrestling athleticism.
Paul challenged Brady on X to wrestle, to which Brady responded vehemently by telling Paul “you realize we’re not playing flag gymnastics?”.
On the Impaulsive podcast, Logan Paul confidently claimed that his athletic ability rivals NFL stars such as Saquon Barkley, even asserting that he competes at the highest level. Brady swiftly dismissed this, calling Paul’s WWE career “cute” and emphasizing that the NFL demands a greater level of difficulty. In response, Brady shared a pointed eight-word message aimed at the WWE fighter.
Widely regarded as an NFL legend, Brady is unaccustomed to being disrespected, especially by someone like Paul, who has a reputation for challenging sports icons — including his notable boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. It appears Paul may have pushed Brady too far by comparing his own athletic skills to those of one of football’s greatest.
Brady later reinforced the competitive seriousness of the upcoming game on X, warning that anyone on his team must be fully committed to winning. He wrote, “I hope people understand the level of competition this game is going to be. If you’re on my team, you’re going to be locked in, all out, and we’re going to not just win… but dominate. I do think Logan Paul has the right attitude, and the effort will be there. How far that gets him will remain to be seen.”
The competition will feature a round-robin format at Kingdom Arena, showcasing top current and former NFL athletes alongside global entertainers. The tournament, headlined by the 48-year-old Brady, will consist of 5-on-5 matchups on a 50-yard field with 20-minute halves. This event plays a significant role in Riyadh Season and promises to be an intense showdown.
Tom Brady on the Saudi Flag Football Tournament
Brady has made it clear that the upcoming flag football tournament in Saudi Arabia is much more than a publicity stunt. During a recent appearance on the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, Brady emphasized that this will be “real football” and “real competition.”
“I’m glad you’re gonna be there,” Brady told Paul. “I’m glad you’re finally gonna participate in, like, a competition that matters.”
However, Brady’s insistence on maximum intensity has raised some concerns about player safety. He stated during the podcast that the game would surpass the competitiveness of the Pro Bowl.
While current NFL stars are reportedly receiving sizable appearance fees to take part, Brady remains focused on ensuring the competition stays serious. This seriousness was evident when Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, slated to captain a team, sounded uncertain about participating during a recent interview.
“I don’t know yet,” Daniels replied when questioned about making the trip.
Daniels experienced injuries last season; thus making playing in a highly competitive desert game riskier for him than expected–particularly with an eye on NFL Draft preparations looming close by. Staying healthy remains their number-one goal heading into 2026 season.
