At Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, collegiate athletes from around the country are taking to Lucas Oil Stadium’s 40 yard dash event to demonstrate their abilities for NFL Scouting Combine selection committee. Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy among many others were in attendance and showed great interest even from faster NFL players like themselves.
Hill took to social media on March 1 to post his belief that he could run the 40 yard dash in 4.29 seconds – challenging 11 prospects who showed quick dashes during this year’s combine performances and setting himself as the bar for future athletes to beat at West Alabama Pro Day (where his Pro Day time stands as unrivaled at this year’s combine). Hill demonstrated his speed by clocking 4.29 second times at Pro Day at West Alabama (his time alone was unrivalled during any participant at this year’s combine).
Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston stood out with the fastest time of 4.28 seconds, while Rutgers cornerback Robert Longerbeam rounded out the top speeds, securing the 11th position with a dash of 4.39 seconds. This impressive showcase gave Hill confidence in his ability to compete with athletes nearly a decade his junior.
Xavier Worthy also kept an eye on the combine outcomes, staking his own claim on speed with a confident statement on social media. His performance in the league, highlighted by his 9 touchdowns, solidifies his reputation as a speed demon.
Despite previous statements about wanting to leave, Hill reassured Dolphins fans with a commitment to remain with the team, promising that the upcoming year would be his best yet.
A Reassuring Promise to the Dolphins
Hill’s announcement to remain with the Dolphins brought both relief and optimism among their fan base, adding extra anticipation for this coming season. His promise that 2018-19 would be his greatest yet has added further anticipation to Dolphins fans worldwide.
Hill and his followers prepare for an exciting year ahead.
