Jordan Eberle was the hero for Seattle Kraken on Saturday night in an intense NHL clash against Calgary Flames, scoring an early overtime goal to seal their 2-1 triumph and become captain for their inaugural season. Eberle continued his remarkable start by scoring five times through their opening six matches as captain!
Calgary Flames Strike First
Blake Coleman of the Flames opened up scoring during a power-play opportunity nearing the end of the first period. Chandler Stephenson levelled things up at 12:25 during an opposing power play opportunity in the second period for Kraken.
Battle of Aggression and Resilience
Throughout the game, Calgary showcased a more aggressive style, outpacing the Kraken in hits and blocked shots. Ryan Lomberg was particularly notable for his physical play, contributing five hits himself. Despite this, the Kraken’s 23 shots on goal highlighted their own resilience, even if many chances did not translate into points.
Goalkeeping Highlights
Joey Daccord of Seattle played an instrumental role in keeping the game competitive during Calgary’s late third period onslaught of shots, recording 21 saves himself – which tied Calgary goalie Dan Vladar as evidence of both teams’ superior defensive efforts.
