Chelsea’s Axel Disasi Set for Winter Transfer as Interest Grows

soccer news

Chelsea French defender Axel Disasi joined them in 2023 but has struggled since due to restrictions on loan numbers at AS Monaco; due to this and ineffective management by Enzo Maresca; Disasi is said to be seeking his departure and likely plans for transfer during January’s window are highly probable.

Disasi’s departure may soon follow as his exclusion from Chelsea’s Premier League squad is an indicator that they intend to move on without him.

Failed Transfer Attempt

Chelsea’s attempts to offload Disasi to AS Monaco over the summer were unsuccessful, primarily due to FIFA’s limits on international loans. This administrative hiccup has left the defender in limbo, as he had previously spent time on loan at Aston Villa, gaining valuable Premier League experience.

Interest from London Clubs and Beyond

Crystal Palace and West Ham United are among the clubs reportedly interested in Disasi. Crystal Palace sees him as a potential replacement for Marc Guehi, should Guehi depart for Liverpool. However, West Ham’s interest is tempered by Disasi’s reservations about moving to East London, and Chelsea’s financial demands for the loan may pose additional hurdles.

Neom FC in Saudi Arabia has emerged as an attractive contender to sign Disasi. Their longer transfer window presents an appealing option, particularly considering recent signings by Neom.

Disasi’s performance at Chelsea suggests his departure will soon occur; and has often been likened to that of Chelsea legend John Terry – suggesting he still could make an impactful contribution elsewhere.
