Liverpool and Arsenal have led Premier League contenders in pursuing Shakhtar Donetsk midfield talent Georgiy Sudakov from Shakhtar Donetsk as they compete to sign him away. His performances at Shakhtar Have drawn comparisons with Mykhailo Mudryk from Chelsea for his incredible play at Shakhtar.
Sources close to Sudakov have reported that representatives from Liverpool and Arsenal scouts attended recent matches of Shakhtar Donetsk to observe Sudakov’s prowess on the field, where his 22 year old prowess has impressed both teams immensely – sparking their desire to intensify their interest even more! Unfortunately for them though, Securing his services won’t come easily, with Shakhtar Donetsk pricing him at at minimum EUR65 Million!
Where Will Georgiy Sudakov Land?
Napoli attempted to lure Sudakov from Shakhtar with an offer worth EUR40 million but were turned away, signalling his likely move to larger clubs such as Arsenal or Liverpool soon enough. Both are looking for younger midfield options due to contract expirations for ageing stars on their squad; and Liverpool missed an opportunity with Martin Zubimendi but may now look towards Sudakov instead as potential addition to bolster their midfield.
But their willingness to meet Shakhtar’s asking price remains questionable given the difficulties associated with high-profile signings adjusting to Premier League demands, particularly given Sudakov’s record when managing similar situations in previous cases. Only time will tell whether Sudakov can successfully manage these pressures over other signings who have encountered similar hurdles in previous deals.
