Liverpool Firm on Keeping Luis Diaz
Liverpool management including Arne Slot met with Luis Diaz and his representatives this December during contract talks to express their satisfaction with his contributions, assure him there were no plans to sell him in the near future, and reiterate no intention to sell until June 2027 when his current contract comes up for renewal. Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona both appear interested, according to reports, having reached out to Diaz’s camp to gauge their situation.

Diaz’s Barcelona Aspirations
Diaz has expressed his wish to play for Barcelona; however, due to financial restrictions exemplified by their inability to register new signing Dani Olmo this is unlikely. PSG appears poised to tempt Liverpool with an offer worth EUR60 million plus player exchange but they remain disinterested at this stage in making such a deal happen.
Mo Salah recently agreed to sign a new deal with Liverpool and with Real Madrid providing more clarity regarding Van Dijk, keeping Diaz is key in maintaining Liverpool’s competitive advantage and their pursuit of another Premier League crown victory.
