soccer news

Manchester City have increased their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush by taking steps to secure his transfer. The 25-year-old Egyptian forward has had an outstanding campaign so far netting 18 goals and 12 assists across 24 matches across all competitions to help propel Frankfurt to third in Bundesliga table.

Even though Marmoush remains under contract with Frankfurt until 2027, his performance has captured the interest of various top European clubs – setting the scene for his potential move in 2025. Liverpool were initially keenly monitoring Marmoush since early in 2024/25 season began; but Manchester City are currently leading in their attempt to bring Marmoush over.

Manchester City’s interest has been spurred on by Pep Guardiola, who is reportedly very impressed with Marmoush’s abilities. Although Aston Villa, Newcastle, Arsenal, and Chelsea have also been linked with the player, it’s Manchester City and Liverpool that are emerging as the frontrunners for his signature.

Will Omar Marmoush Head to Manchester City in 2025?

Marmoush himself has recently expressed interest in joining the Premier League by 2025, giving Manchester City and other English clubs an excellent chance of signing him this season. Eintracht Frankfurt have set a transfer fee estimate ranging between EUR65 million to EUR70 million for him but may close on an agreement for slightly less money – although their initial transfer fee estimate could prove inaccurate as deals often close for less.

Omar Marmoush could prove an advantageous addition for Pep Guardiola’s side, providing versatility while potentially contributing to rejuvenation efforts within their squad. As 2025 draws closer, Manchester City looks set for another significant year to cement their place at the summit of English football.
