Trinity Rodman voiced concerns for her back following a 64-minute performance for Washington Spirit against Bay FC on March 10. “Honestly,” Rodman admitted after her last competitive match on April 12, before taking an indefinite break from competitive play to consult with their medical team in London and return as soon as May arrives – although Emma Hayes, coach of US Women’s National Team was confident Rodman would recover quickly given all her support systems surrounding her and hopeful for an imminent comeback timeline.
Rodman took an important step toward her comeback this month by rejoining Washington Spirit training sessions for the first time in three months after suffering back issues following last summer’s Summer Games – leading her to miss nine NWSL matches and nearly eight months away from US Women’s National Team duty.
Rodman shared her excitement of her return on social media by posting a story to Instagram featuring an image shared from Washington Spirit’s official account and accompanying it with “Can’t wait to be back at rowdy Audi babyyyy.”
