Gauff, who made headlines around social media after she unveiled a New Balance-designed outfit for Melbourne Open tennis tournament, caused quite an uproar online when she unveiled an innovative bodysuit-esque white top and olive skirt combination to mark her outfit choice for Melbourne event. She drew inspiration from Marvel superheroes, incorporating unique cutouts to reflect their iconic looks. “And the back is backless cause I wanted to show my skin, and then the cutouts are inspired by, I’m a huge Marvel fan, so superheroes, and all the female superheroes have cool cutouts, so I wanted it have a cool cutout,” Gauff explained.
