Coco Gauff has won audiences around the globe over with her incredible skills and commitment on court before the age of 21. Beyond athletic achievement, Gauff has drawn worldwide admiration including brand partnerships and notable accolades; recently however, her influence extended far beyond sports alone with an acknowledgement that truly lifted her spirit – truly elevating her presence beyond its realm.
Gauff was overjoyed on Instagram this Saturday after hearing Tyler, the Creator mention her name in his new track ‘Thought I Was Dead,’ from his forthcoming album Chromasopia. Gauff found herself speechless upon hearing of Tyler’s praise in such a high profile track which will hopefully become part of history books as Gauff builds her career path forward. It marked an unforgettable milestone in Gauff’s rise.
Gauff was clearly shocked and overwhelmed to discover her name was mentioned on Tyler song! To express her astonishment and express her thanks she posted the video onto her Instagram story with caption, “From finishing practice to being mentioned on Tyler song… Absolutely insane.” Additionally she expressed her joy by commenting on it with, “me waking up today on Tyler song…wtf”. Interestingly the 28th second of Tyler Song mentions Gauff by way of humorous nod: if it ain’t Coco Gauff you can’t serve me” — an acknowledgment to Gauff’s formidable presence within tennis!
