Eugenie Bouchard has long been recognized for her extraordinary tennis talent and recent foray into professional pickleball; now though, this holiday season she is making headlines not due to athletic achievements but rather for her heartfelt commitment to community service.
Bouchard began playing pickleball after failing to qualify for the US Open and quickly reached professional status in just under a year. She is currently taking time away from sports to dedicate herself more fully towards charitable initiatives during this festive season.
Bouchard recently participated in the Meals in Heels event, organized by Major Food Group, where she helped prepare and package meals for those less fortunate. Through her Instagram stories, she shared glimpses of herself decked out in a festive red and white Christmas hat and a white apron, busily at work on the meal boxes. Expressing her joy in participating, one of her captions read, “filling these babies up w delicious @carbonfinefood to give out,” highlighting the satisfaction she derived from her involvement in the event. In addition to her own efforts, Bouchard was joined by notable figures including media personality Alix Earle and footballer Braxton Berrios, demonstrating the collaborative spirit of giving back.
Aside from her charitable work, Bouchard has been embracing the holiday spirit in other ways too. Early in December, she shared photos of a night out with friends, searching for Christmas decorations in an all-white outfit that perfectly matched the seasonal aesthetic. Her social media post, “Just girls trying to find Christmas decorations,” captures the start of her holiday preparations and reflects her excitement for the season, a sentiment she has openly expressed in previous years.
Bouchard’s Love for Christmas
Christmas holds a special place in many people’s hearts around the globe, celebrated through family gatherings, feasts, and gift exchange. Eugenie Bouchard finds joy in using Christmas as an opportunity to unplug from her rigorous training schedule and spend quality time with loved ones. Speaking to Hello magazine about it in 2013, Eugenie mentioned how important these moments are and that celebrating this festive season means returning home to Montreal where her family celebrates it with them is key: she mentioned “it is most essential,” adding, “You need to celebrate that.”
As Christmas nears, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing how Bouchard will spread cheer and give back to her community during this festive time of year.
